Louisiana Tech University Livestock Sale: Terms and Conditions
- Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.
- The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids.
- Terms of the sale are cash. Checks should be made payable to the Louisiana Tech Foundation.
- Each animal will be at the purchaser’s risk as soon as sold; however, the university will feed and care for the animals, without charge to the purchaser, for a period of up to 48 hours after the sale.
- Finished Market Steers, Hogs, and Lambs:
At the buyer’s request, finished steers, hogs, and lambs will be processed and wrapped into retail cuts by the Louisiana Tech Meats Lab, with no additional charge to the buyer. Please allow 3 to 6 weeks for completion of processing.
- Health:
- All female beef and dairy animals have been calfhood vaccinated for Brucellosis.
- All cattle have been vaccinated for Blackleg, Lepto, and Vibrio.
- All horses have been dewormed and vaccinated for Eastern and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, Influenza, and Rhinopneumonitis and have a current negative Coggins Test.
- The Louisiana Tech beef herd is certified Brucelloisis-free (Herd #89-816) and the swine unit is monitored Pseudorabies and Brucelloisis free.
- Health certificates and other appropriate documents will be provided on each animal by Louisiana Tech.
- Registration certificates for registered animals will be mailed to the buyers.
- All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. The guarantees and terms above constitute a contract between buyer and seller of each lot.
